Daytona 24 Rolex Roll-call
You probably posted in the other thread a couple weeks ago.
Now, for real... who's going to be there?
We're staying on the beach at some hoochie mama joint that swears the best bars are nearby...
We'll have to figure out a place to meet. Post here and check-in regularly. Crackberry on the road is the best.
Seeya all there whether you're driving or spectating.

We're leaving Thurs midday and arriving *hopefully* before the bars close early Friday morning.
Look for the DTS with the laser blinder system velcro'd to the front bumper.
EricVonHa, Bob, and Neil will be with me.

We are already here but in Orlando. Spent the day at Epcot (after replacing an alternator in the Suburban). My legs and feet are killing me. I have my parents here and we won't be at the track until friday morning. We have tickets thru GRM. See y'all there.

I'll be there. I live in Orlando, so planning to drive over early Saturday morning and stay until at least dinner time or a bit beyond.
Work prevents my attending the Koni challenge race, and the combination of old age and a little 'been there, done that' will keep me from staying all night, although some of my best memories of the Rolex are in the garages at 3AM watching teams thrash to get back on track while the laps tick away.
Of course there are also memories of freezing my @$$ off and trying to keep my hands warm standing up against the pit fence behind the exhaust of someone's generator!

I am here and checked in on ROAR Racing - Rob and crew have two cars available.
One Subaru dented its fender a bit in practice - but otherwise it has been a good day for teting and qualifying...
MattW-VA - he is at spot 505 and having a great time...

You had to say that didn't you. Remind me to smack you when I see you. Nancy is all a flutter thinking she might get to meet Patrick Dempsey. Its almost obscene.
Anyway, does anyone want to do dinner Friday night? Nancy wanted me to ask if Patrick could come.

Never paid the "stars" at Daytona much attention but the wife went with me Dempsey's first year running. We met him in the pits and he stood and talked racing for 10 - 15 minutes. Took a pic with the wife and was very cordial. That was enough to finally get the wife interested in racing. Since then we have bumped into him a couple more times in the pits and he always been very nice and acts like just another guy at the track.. except for the line of women wanting an autograph.

We rolled into town at 5am after averaging over 76MPH for our 12.5hr journey from Philly. We slept in the parking lot of our favorite breakfast diner for 2 hrs till they opened. That was our penalty for driving too fast.
Anyhow, we're here and in the lounge now at the Bill France bldg waiting for our Penske passes to be validated.
Seeya'all in a few...
Btw, 'O8 DTS's don't have a speed limiter till after 120
