Default I have the same problem.

I really dont fit in my c6 with a helmet. Some pople in c5s have been able to come up with a seat bracket that lowers the seat. Somting about taking the seat adjusting motors from under the eat and getting it closer to the floor for more head room. Have loooked for one for a c6 and have not found anyting.

If you pull the seat you'll see that there are four heavy springs that attach the seat cover to the seat frame. I removed two of these springs and it lowered my head about one inch.

we removed the headliner and halo cover. I also disconnect the rear seat-heat wire so that I can slip the center bolster out, giving a bit more leg room.

The C6Z is still tight, but these mods make it drivable for my oversized co-driver.

Thanks for the ideas, I also thought of removing the headliner but I will check with PDA rules first, don't know if they allow it, I can't see why not unless the headliner covers some sharp edges up there

The roof brackets have some sharpish edges, but you can tape over them. It certainly isn't a performance advantage. You could always make up a felt liner if aesthetics are important.

The OEM headliner bows down several inches below the actual roof. If you've ridden in a C6 coupe with a glass roof, you know how much space you lose in the Z06

if the headliner bows down several inches below the roof I would think removing it would be an advantage over lowering the seat. lowering the seat would change, for the lack of a better phase "eye view" meaning change your body position from what you've become accustom to. I'm just a novice so if anyone can correct me please do. Again I would have to check with the PDA and see if they would allow it especially if sharp edges are exposed even with tape on them.

I'm thinking about doing the eaxact same thing. I'm currently in the market for a 2008 Z06, but I don't quite fit in them headroom-wise....I'm very tall...6' 7".

I had a friend at GM ask the seating guys the differance between the base and Z06 seats. I was the told the cushion material is differant in the C6 Z06's vs. the Base C6, plus the rails are also differant. I was told I could carve-out some of the foam or even replace it with some different material (denser?) and thinner. I have not spoken to a seating person/compnay about doing this. But I assume someone must of done this before.

I'm not sure, but isn't there seat rails that are available via aftermarket that will lower the seat by about an 1/2 inch?

CodeBlack - Please let know what you do, becuase I'll need to make changes related to the seat before I can even drive the car (for more than 10 miles).
