HPDE: Why run 18" wheels all around?
Im starting to get HPDE addicted. Now considering wheel/tire combos. If our C6Z06's have 19s in the back, what does changing to 18s all around do for the car?

Be careful, cheaper by only maybe $20 per tire. At $1400 per set, $20 isn't going to make any difference. So, don't buy 18" rims thinking you'll save money. Add in $2000+ for rims and it will take a number of years to return your money.
Contrary to what you hear, there is no good reason to go to 18" rims unless you want to run several different brands of tires. Hoosier makes a 19" 345 and that is all you need to know. Buy a set of OEM's and be done with it.

I run 18s all the way round on my 06 Coup and the car handles great.
You can also save tire wear by rotating them around the car. That in itself can be a big money saver.
I just got a set of 18 x 10.5 C5 Z06 wheels for $800.00 so that was not so bad either.

I'm in this camp as well. C5 Z06 rears with scrubs all the way around. Rotate them every four sessions (once a day).
David Farmer gave me this advice a couple years ago on this forum and it has worked out well. Several sources for scrubs and, at $75 a tire, I've more than paid for the wheels by now.

18" rear rims and tires may be 2-3 lbs lighter then the same 19" combo too.
Two pounds removed of unsprong wt( rotating wt) or 2 lbs lighter per wheel is close to 13 lbs removed of sprong wt per wheel. about 26 pounds less

For the C6, I think 18s all round is the way to go for sure. It's certainly one way to go on the C5. There are LOTS of track tires, used, available for that size, and rotation is good. Another way to go is 17", but not on a C6. If you have a C5, 17" wheels will fit over the stock brakes and rotors, and will reduce unsprung weight even more. Also, the 315 rear/295 front combination is a widely used race configuration, so there are sets of tires available in those sizes.
Isn't TWS a great track? Loads of fun!

Like you I got hooked just recently on HPDE's. I found a set of stock wheels black anodized mounted and balanced with sensors, lug nuts, caps and Hoosier R6's in stock sizes that had maybe two heat cycles on them for $1800 ( thanks toTerry@MSI) I plan on doing 5-6 events this year learning how to drive the car. I also invested in track pads, front rotors ( DBA 4000) brake lines (DRM) Motul RBF 600 and I'm trying a new shock ( Koni 3013 rebound adjustable only thanks to Danny Popp and Paul from VANSTEEL) I have 40K on my '07 Z. I also invested in a good tire gauge and pyrometer ( thanks Terry & Mark @MSI ) yes, I'm hooked
What slippery slope.....

I would also suggest:
A 1 ton is not much more than 3/4 ton.
A small (8') camper (with no head) for the back of the truck. Basic refigerator, stove & bed.
My 24' trailer has a built-in 4kw Onan generator. Walk in, hit a button. Lights, camera, action!
Hey, it's only money! It's not like we are driving Yugos...
