Default Hoosier R6 295/35/17 fronts?

The brown truck showed up with my new 295's. I got them mounted and I was checking them out on lock to lock and they hit the outside of the rear bottom wheel fender lip. Instead of dorking with the wheel well I was probably just going to sell them to some other Vette out at the track.

I should have bought the 275/40/17..... I guess. Time is running short. So my question is for guys that ran 275 and jumped up to 295 was there a measurable gain in your lap times?

What i am saying is: If it is worth the effort to mod the wheel well I will just go forward with these 295's

My othe question is I went ahead and paid for the $15 heat cycled. Do you guys get them heat cycled? Our local track is abrasive and I wanted more consistency right out of the box.

I'm going to be doing the TT events locally and Laguna Seca

just dont turn your wheel to full lock. you're not going to get anywhere close to that on track.

Heat cycling: I buy used tires. Heat cycling for free!
Size: Not sure why they're hitting. Is your car lowered? Mine is not and I have no clearance issues with these tires. Outside of the rear bottom lip... Not sure why they'd hit there at all. Pics would be good.

I know.... I know! It just like last year my 11X25 front good year slicks made it tough maneuvering in the pits.

for me bigger tires are easier to drive and brake better I run GS wheel with 275 x 17 & 315 x 17 or 315 x 18 & 335 x 18 on my CCW's. Times not sure exactly but not much of a difference.

How much are you looking to get for them?

It is not worth it to me to ship them. I got them from the tire rack locally So they are $281 + sales tax + $15 for heat cycle. So they were like $640 a pair.

What i'll probably do is work a deal with some local racer if he buys a set of 275's which are cheaper that i would trade him straight across and pay for the mounting swap for both of us. Or just go burn them up on the rear of my car.

My 315/30/18 never really rub anything until the suspension arms (upper, lower or both) tried to extrude their (stock) bushings.

This maybe stupid, but check your front suspension bushings.

Has anyone had clearance problems with 295/35/17 on C4 standard rims?

What front springs are you running. If they are the stock F41 springs they are available in different ride heights, if I remember correctly the 74 BB/air were the tallest and the 66 w/o air were the shortest. I ran the latter in my C2 to keep it from floating at about 130mph.

I have a different front end that weighs 150 pounds less. I also have QA-1 dual adjust coil overs so it is not a ride height problem. The wheel well is actually about 2 inches further back compared to a stock body.

I think that the front spindles were not made for wider 10 inch wheels with altered BS
