Mixing R6 and R3SO5 Slicks
Mysteriously a rim leak appeared in the left rear of my Hoosier R5. The tire guys couldn't seal it. (Ideas for fixing this are welcome!) So I mounted a Hoosier R3SO5 of the same size instead. Traction, temp, wear, etc parameters are the same. Any hazard running these together?

Anyone else who has fixed a slow rim leak please chime in. The wheel rim appears fine, the area of the tire bead where the air is sealed off has marks like a screen door got caught between the tire and the wheel.
I am trying to fix it by sanding irregular surfaces, cutting leftover molding rubber off, and smoothing it with toluene. The area has dried and looks improved.
