Houston, TX auto-x
I may be getting transferred to Houston. Is there much autocross activity in the area? Preferably within 3 to 5 hours of drive time. We run in NCCC out of FL and there's always something going on within a few hours drive.
We also do some HPDE, but not as much.
Thanks.

Tons of auto-x in Houston.
Houstion region runs @ GGP on the first Sunday of every month.
Houston BMW: Houston Police Academy
Lone Star PCA: GGP and HPA
Texas A&M Sports Car Club in College Station: About 100 miles from Houston (depending on where you are).

Every auto-x in the state is listed there. Texas A&M Sports Car Club (Tamscc) is having a free auto-x school/practice this Saturday and a regular auto-x this Sunday.

It is a long tow from Houston to the Carolinas. I hope you get a raise.

It's not a done deal but it's there if I want it. I'm out there for three weeks starting Monday. When I get back I'll have 6 days to get the car back together before the first event we're running. And of course it's out of town so I really don't have that long. I think I finally found the brake problem.

I actually live about 180 miles NW of Houston but I do know that the areas (Woodlands) north of Houston are quite nice. I can get you some contacts there if you would like. The San Jacinto Corvette Club has a lot of racers. You would really like them.
Also, the Houston Corvette Expo is there Feb. 16-17. You would be able to meet them there as they always have a big display.

it'll take you an hour plus at rush hour to get from most of the northwest suburbs to I-10/I-610 on the east side

Houston Region puts on some og the best events in the country. Roger John is usually the course designer...he also does one of the course at the Solo II national Championships.

San Jacinto Corvette Club is the only club in houston area that belongs to NCCC. they have been involved in racing for decades and are very active and host an annual "first choice" event as well as track days and HPDE. The NCCC Southwest Region's regional compition director is a member of this club. Great all around club. www.sanjacintocorvetteclub.org
I live in the Woodlands area and have to tell ya, you don't want to live on the far north side and drive to I-10 west, it'll be an hour avg.
