Default NCM Road America

Registration is behind us for the VIR event. All we have to do now is sit back and let Tom, Roc, and Adam do all the work.
I am seriously thinking about instructing at the other RA event, but have lost site of just when it is.
Is there anybody else from the SE thinking about making the trip and when is it? Thanks in advance.

Hey Wally Patches and I are thinking about it. It would be a 1100 mile trip one way. I heard some one say that gas prices might hit $4 a gallon this summer so we will have to see.

I got that off the ALMS web site. Anyway the ALMS race is Saturday, the NCM HPDE is Monday and Tuesday. Several of the Corvette race team and GM racing will be staying over for the NCM HPDE.

Default Road America

Not instructing but hope to attend (if we get registered) with a caravan of about 5 other drivers from Florida, Maryland, NY, Illinois and me from Virginia. We plan to attend the race then stay for the NCM event. Already have room reservations.......they are going fast due to the race weekend. It'll be a 1000 mile (one way) trip for me but I have heard so many great things about Road America I think it will be worth it.

I'll be there, if I can fast finger registration before it's gone in 60 seconds. If not, I'm taking bids on my room at the Osthoff Lodge.

Lets stay in touch. We don't need to make a decision just yet. Some how RA-Wisconsin in August sounds a whole lot better than RA-Georgia in August.

Road America is the first road course that I ever saw. I remember that some of the people were driving Corvairs. It must of been 40 years ago. I think that it would be well worth the drive.

Hey Wally, I plan on going, and I don't want to hear anyone complain of the drive. About 1600 miles oneway for me. I may think twice if gas is $4.00 plus per gallon. I towed up last year and ran with the Cobra club, along with Short Throw and 2 others from the forum. Great track, well worth the trip. You might as well come, it's that or stumble around in that 10,000 sq.ft. palace you call a garage. JD

Wally, Beerkat, JD, et. al.

It looks like we will be running RA in GA and then RA in WI....I figure if the big name guys can fly in so can I....

I think a caravan with a big hauler may make some real sense....

Road America was my home track for many years in the 70's.....

Hey Art: JD and I are rooming with you so we get the right of first refusal on other potential roomies. Registration will probably BE gone in 10 minutes. Be prepared.
