track car progress: vote for your fav paint job!
ShortThrow has been working overtime helping me get a paint scheme together for my RR track car. Adam Boca is the artist who's come up with some killer designs.
Adam: Your tremendous. Newlander: Your a sadist. Note that we are on version 24.
I'm going to pick one of these puppies in the next week or two!
Attached below is a pic of the car, before the paint goes one (& the roof).

Thanks Tom!!
It has been great working with you on this project! I must point out that design is very similar to Mike's car and the LG Claudio Burton car that someone else designed. We worked with many different designs and color combos, but felt that it would be cool to keep a similar design to Mike's car. Tom has been very open to anything I threw at him. Maybe Tom will post some of the others that we were working with.
Thanks Tom for allowing me to be a part of you special project!

Tom,
The car looks great. I prefer the Orange/Black, but that's our 'company' colors as well. It's MEAN, INTIMIDATING and NASTY!
Can't wait to see it on track.

My picks are the yellow/blue and the gunmetal/blue...
To me they carry a bit of OMG and elegance....
The black/orange has a sinister look to it, but to jackolanternish...
It is so hard to portray true colors/metallics, but gives you a general idea of what the car will look like...

Thanks for the help guys. It's a tough call. I actually think Adam came up with three smokin designs.
I'm having very tough time picking among these. I think the Blue/Grey may not show up on the track as well as the other choices. Yellow/Blue will look tremendous (very refined/dialed in), Orange/Black will look the "meanest".
High class problem trying to choose among 3 winners!
Don: We are going to have a great time this Spring!

The car already looks intimidating in it's current state!
Adam is a wiz and comes up with too many good options making it tough to choose.
As you saw my car in person, the real paint job takes the photochops to reality.
As this thread grows, you will get many votes for each option. This is a tough decision as there is no right or wrong when it comes to subjectivity.
You have a killer hood with the louvers and I think a lighter color will show it off best. That's what you want to show the rear view mirror watchers!
I think once mine is complete next week you will have a good idea whether you want to incorporate black as part of the scheme. That should be a great indicator on whether you want to stay with black or move into a blue, etc...
Go with the one that wows you because it's you that will see it everyday. Best yet, it will be facing mine each night in the track garage......Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I see a possible commercial ad setting here.
OFF TOPIC:
Tom is being quite modest as this car will truly be a monster.

I like the Black and orange. with minor change
Make the top of the car white. Helps keep the cockpit cooler on hot race days.
as far as your major sponsors. U S E B I G B L O C K L E T T E R S
so it can be read at speed.

As you said, there's no bad choices here.
I'm going to cross off Blue and Gunmetal as a choice. I want colors that will really show up on the track (safety for one). That color scheme will look great but isn't nearly as easy to see on track.
It's a tough call between the other two. The Yellow and Blue may look much more aggressive with the metallic blue paint that Chris suggested. If I go that way, making it look more flamboyant may be the trick.
PS. Thanks to everyone for their points of view. Kind of interesting their is no clear favorite on the post. All three seem equally popular.

I wouldn't use the yellow/blue combo because the first thing that jumped to mind was the Penske/Donohue Porsche 917 (if your old enough to remember the good ole Can-Am days) and a Corvette should never remind me of a Porsche. My .02 /:\
