Default Phoenix Front Tow Hook Installed

Before I bought this, I looked for pictures of the tow hook installed on an '06/'07 Z06 but couldn't find any. So for the benefit of others getting ready for the track this season, here's mine.

Everything off...

Everything back on..

I got mine in the mail last week. Waiting for a little warmer weather to pull the front and rear bumpers off. I got the non hinged version.

Nice install.

Uhhhh, no. For right now, the soon to be ex-wife has the garage and the house to which it's attached... I'm stuck in 'temporary' housing and they technically don't allow you to work on the car so I have to work with what I got, which isn't much!

At least I still have the car!

Are Tow Hooks legal on the street? I remember hearing they were not - If they are not, does it matter if they are the collapsable version or not?

Just a comment - On my old car, you could simply screw them in an out - very simple. Can't believe we have to drop the front fascia to install...guess it's a case of 'if you want to play...'

It took a few hours may 3 - 4. My 7 and 3 year old sons were 'helping'... It would have been a hell of a lot easier if I had been able to lift it. Overall though, very straight forward.

I got the tow hooks and will do the work next week. At what spot did you cut the grill? Could you photo the area that the hook goes through the grill?

if it folds flat it is no danger to pedestrains.

Folding or not, hard mount hooks cause damage. Personally I use soft hooks. Only work in tension so no damage to vehicle if you bump something or get bumped. I have them front and rear on my AI car. Not sure how to post photos.
