Default Ford GT = price history ?

Just curious if people know how much the Ford GT sold for when
it came out ?
Cause cheapest ones now are selling in the 150K range...

Also anyone ever driven one on the street or on the track ?

It varied as most cars do, but for the most part they were going for 185-220K.

I am surprised that there arent some out there for under 150K. Thats still steap as hell, but a sick *** car well worth the money.

at the end they were going for near sticker in the 140 range I would love one as it was always my favorite car as a kid in the 60's. All my Aurora track cars were GT-40's Some went for 300 in the beginning. They is a web site devoted to GT-40 prices if your try a search.

There are about 20 of them on Ebay right now from $140K up to this one in Gulf livery for $210K.

They seem to have held their value very well so far.

When they first came out in 2004 they were selling for $250,000+. I visited a buddy who worked for Saleen in Irvine, CA and the yellow/black one at the dealership off of PCH was $320,000.

Here's me sitting in Steve Saleen's personal GT back then in December '04 at their factory.

Nice cars... but seeing one next to an S7 makes it look like a POS... especially the first test twin turbo S7

Here's me and my buddy in the Saleen Mustang chase car while they were doing some data logging in the prototype TT S7

oooh man, enough of the pics of that saleen! Incredible cars and love seeing em' in the R mirror and then blast pass me in a blink. I was following the GT story as I've loved those cars. They be selling for 200 210 after they first came out then settled down to a low of 150 or so. And that's when I started dreaming again! I could do that! Stopped by local lambo dealer 2 months ago and he commented that he should be calling his dealership GT Dealer as he was selling Gt consistantly and for $187/186k all day long on e-bay. He had three in stock at that time.

Well...yes..looks abit like an antique next to the S7...
..then again what car doesn't.....

But afterall isn't the GT from the early/mid 1960's and Ford's idea of
a Ferrari after Enzo didn't sell his company to Ford

At the peak the car was going for at least double of its sticker which was $150K. I think at the low point they were going for about sticker price even when they were used. Once Ford finally stopped making them, I think that the price started going back up a bit.

I know someone that has one with the Gulf Livery. I think it was called the Heritage model. He sold it last summer and then bought it back within a month. I guess he missed it.

There's a guy running around here with a red Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. Cool car.
