HoosierYurDaddy R6 Tire Pressures....
All Righty! I'm shifting to the other tire manufacturer for the VIR race this coming weekend, and I need some advice.
I discovered a hole in the tread of one of my Kumho 710's, and they are on backorder so I needed to get a replacement el pronto. I found a set of Hooisers and I have no idea of their characteristics, but, first off, I need to start with the correct pressures.
Thanks!

It's my only possible way for me to stay on the same lap as you. You, Kaiser and Cates will take off and I won't see ya'll again until you're on the podium.

I run 32/30 cold, so right in the ball park with everyone else.
After a practice session or two, you'll have them dialed in

We have always run them around 30 psi cold in the past. However, toward the end of 2006 season we were told of Hoosier tests where they got improved performance with less pressure. We are now running around 20 psi cold. I know some are running a little less than that. If you are running at VIR this weekend, talk to Craig Gelston. He will be in the red and blue C4 that wins ST1!

Most T-1 folks run 24F, 20R cold. Good luck, Jody.

I am giving you a speed secret on the direction you need to go to be fast. We are talking about racing here. You are free to believe and do what ever you like.

So, if one can be faster with lower tire pressues on Hoosiers - could this also be the case with street tires?

They last just fine. The funny part is that is the high side of cold pressure's for most T1 guys. If I really told ya where we start you would be shocked. At the National level no one care's about anything other then winning. Giving up time is the kiss of death

Never lasted for me at Pocono shoulders are gone in real short order. Granted when your racing you can dump them after a 40 minute race. I still never liked the handling low especially on the banking. To each their own.

There was a generation of Hoosiers (about 3-4 years ago) that were prone to edge wear, but those days are long gone now.
A6/R6 tires like 2.5 to 3.5 degrees of negative camber up front and about 2 to 2.5 rear.
