Damn that sucks for Lou. Well maybe he can spend the year getting the car sorted out and be ready for next year.

How or why would they invite someone who hasn't competed with the car once? We all love Lou and hope for his sucess, but I would have been really blown away if they invited a brand new team that hasn't had a race under their belt to the superbowl of sportscar races...

Interesting.. Two Porsche RS Spyders in LMP2, but no Penske? I wonder why he's not running Le Mans?

No acura either. Shame, as both teams are extremely competitive and great to watch battle in ALMS.

Regardless, the Audi/Peugot battle in LMP1, Aston/C6.R in GT1, and Ferrari/Porsche in GT2 will be interesting to watch.

Here's hoping it will be in HD this year.

Either way, 2009 should be a great race if LG can run GT2, they can add the LMP2, and the BMW GT2 is also included!

I didn't expect Acura to be there because they only have one racing season under their belt now. This is the third season for the Penske Porsches though. I was fully expecting them to be there.

Penske got 2 auto invitations for winning Petit and the ALMS championship but they denied both of them. They did the same thing last year. For whatever reason they dont want to go to Le Mans.

I think he still has a chance if he wins his class (GT2) at the 12 hours of Sebring.

Go get em Lou!

I'm thinking that Penske likes to be a big fish in a little pond.

I second the go get em Lou! But as for having a chance at Le Mans for it, ain't gonna happen! The entry list has been published and that is that. The field and reserves are set.

Well LGM will be better prepared for next year. It is a lot with a new car and team in a different type of racing to make it all work in one year. Look how long it took C5R's to smooth out the bumps. It should still be a great season for them and for us to watch!

Is there a power/wt penalty in the 24Lemans rulebook for Penske/Porsche - not addressed in ALMS??

The Penske Porsches have proven that they do not have the reliability for a 24 hour race. I completely understand why they have not gone.

You guys are all wrong. Penske would go if Porsche required him to go. Porsche dictates where the cars go, who drives them, Roger is basically the vendor.

I would have thought LG would have commented on this by now.
