The new engine is being dropped into my 08 Z51 as we speak, so it looks like I'll be able to make the Roebling Road National in Savannah, GA next weekend. However, I need some help on Feb 29th, which is a test day. It's just your basic crew stuff - radio comms, tire temps, lap times, etc, etc.

I'll teach you everything you need to know and I'll cover your room, food and beer. And you are of course welcome to stay for the rest of the weekend and watch some cool National level SCCA racing...and learn a ton too!!!

You don't need an SCCA membership for the test day, but it definitely gets you closer to the action for the race weekend.

Still an O5, but I'm in zone O6. Navy's board was in January, but the results are available until April due to the congressional review/approval process.

I'm actually in Charleston right now on a ROTC recruiting trip to the Citadel. Brief the students there this evening on submarines as a career path and have a social with them Friday evening. Could almost make it to RR in the morning, say hi, take a few tire temps for you and make it back...

I do have my car back and it looks good in my garage, but my schedule really looks bad this year due to a recent major change in scheduling. Looks like I'll be deployed all summer.

Shore duty in 09 though and maybe in DC which means we'll cross paths again.

Sorry Chris, couldn't make it today. Ended up having an early afternoon commitment with the ROTC students that just made it too impractical to drive down there, spend an hour or two and turnaround, come back, then get dressed up in blues...

Hope you are having a good day at the track. Congrats on the pending retirement. Any plans for what's next?
