Late C4 coilover spring rates. Whatcha running?
I'm getting near the end of a C4 suspension swap onto my spare C3 frame. I'm putting coilovers up front (on the '92 front suspension), and am just curious what you guys with coilovers are running for spring rates on your car.
Thanks,
Mike

You didnt mention your cars intended use or other specs, but heres some info to help. Front coil springs can range from 375-700 and rears from 250-350. I have a set with 375/250 (front/rear) thats good and soft for the street. Also have 500/300 set good for the track, but still livable on the street. 325 rears is better for the track, but a poor compromise for quality street ride. My street set has stock fx3 valving and track set has revalved fx3 valving.

It's a dual purpose car. It will still be a licensed vehicle, but I'm looking forward to putting a bunch more track (road course) miles on it. I had 550# springs on the original suspension, but it looks like the coilover bottom mount (on the C4 suspension) is much closer to the balljoint/wheel than on the C3 suspension, so I'm looking at about a 375# rate spring initially that will give a similar wheel rate as before. I'm pulling a couple hundred pounds off the front end (building a streetable ZL1 engine for it), so I'm hoping to keep the spring rates within reason. Once I get it back on the road, I expect to make some changes, but I'm just curious what guys are currently running.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Mine's a dual purpose car. One of the reasons I'm going with the Hardbar dual rate springs.
Soft for the street/straight aways. The higher rate springs come in for the corners.
Since all of Gary's setups are custom, he have set you up with whatever you need.

I realize springs aren't mainly responsible for transitions, but it seems like a changing spring rate would be unpredictable.
