UPDATE #3 ***Suspension Start: LG Motorsports/JMac Racing***
Hi guys,
The LG/JMac project is well under way to it's transformation. We are starting off this issue with the suspension and braking components. This is going to be a multi-part installment with just some of the basics being hit on in this update.
First, the car was completely dis-assembled and OEM parts were packaged away for return shipment.
REAR SUSPENSION AND DRIVETRAIN REMOVAL
ENGINE AND FRONT SUSPENSION REMOVAL
Next, all of the factory control arms were removed and the stock rubber bushings pressed from their homes to make way for LG's solid mono ball housings and bearings.
Removing Factory Bushings
Mono Ball Housings and Bearings
The upper control arms will receive a slightly different treatment with billet alum. cross shafts and a different bushing material.
Suspension Components Ready for Assembly
Factory GM uprights are also being removed in favor of complete billet LG Motorsport aluminum drop spindles that were used on our World Challenge Corvettes. The billet construction uses all of the factory components so they are a direct exchange from the OEM units. The pieces are much thicker to reduce deflection under the most severe loading on the track. These will lower the car approx. 1" from the factory height with out changing anything else, so control arms remain close to the stock setting. Upper ball joints are also replaced with a HD steel pin and high miss-alignment mono ball.
Bare Upright
Assembled Uprights with Bearings and Brake Duct plates
Bearings are being upgraded to the GM Racing units complete with ARP wheel studs in factory thread size. Not only do these use a special high temp grease, they also feature a high pre-load bearing assembly to reduce on pad knock back, and deflection, which is an important factor as we will be running on a full slick with this car.

Stay Tuned for Update #4 when we discuss LG's coil overs and start on the braking system!

Anthony,
Are the GM Racing Bearing Assemblies a part that we can order or is that a special piece for you guys? If so would you have the part#, I know we go through LH wheel bearings every 5 or 6 events, maybe those would be the ticket.

Anthony, What is the cost of the solid mono ball housings and bearings kit for the C6 non Z06 and what is included? Front and rear upper and lower bearings?
How much to just remove my old factory control arm bushings and install polyurethane if I bought a poly kit from another vendor?

GM only sells those wheel bearings to Pro race teams. They started selling them around 2000 for World Challenge etc, and are only available directly from the GM racing warehouse as far as I know.
