Default Chassis Tunnel Plate & straight pipes

Still in the tweaking stage getting my 00FRC ready for an HPDE session the end of the month. I installed zo6 shocks and springs, along with Hodgkin sway bars, an Urethane bushings. I had it corner balanced and wheels aligned. Now I am thinking about a 3/8" chassis tunnel plate as the last tweak. Will this plate make a big difference? I was also thinking that while/if I install the plate of playing with m exhaust.

Headers and other exhaust mods are on the list for later on. But looking at the exhaust "catback" and looking at products that look like straight pipes with a 180* bend, I got to thinking of a different way that may work.
How about taking the stock exhaust and cutting off the muffler. I would cut the pipe just before it makes the 90* turn to the muffler. Then take that pipe and add a 45* pre bent pipe than a straight piece of pipe to the outside of the car. You could then attach turn down tips in an effort to keep the noise away from the "DB gun"
May not be pretty but may find a pony or two.
Any thoughts on either question?

I run straight pipes over the axles and straight out the back. No mufflers.

after the X-pipe, just straight pipes with a bend over the axle, then straight out the back

Also have a spiral baffle to insert IF I need to decrease the sound.

I did not make them, some one in Northern Wisconsin did.
