looks like a dozen or so Corvettes so we should be well represented. Look forward to meeting you all there.

Taken from Chin's email...

Early Registration Friday at the Track: Early Registration will be available in the paddock at Roebling Road Raceway, Friday, 3/7, from 5pm to 7:00pm. If at all possible, we encourage you to arrive in time to get checked in Friday afternoon at the track. You can unload cars, and park trailers. You will then avoid the line Saturday morning. The registration period ends at 7pm, you must arrive by 6:30pm to complete registration. The paddock gates will close at 7:30pm.
Event Registration Saturday at the track: Track gates open at 6:30 Sat AM. The line forms at the gate before then. Registration opens at 6:45am. Saturday morning will be busy, and there will be a brief wait to complete registration. Please arrive EARLY. You want to have registration and tech inspection complete before the 7:20am driver's meeting. That won't happen if you arrive after 6:45 AM! Event registration is CLOSED during the driver's meeting. Please complete driver registration FIRST, and car tech SECOND.

Windy as can be today which only made the cold three times worse. Tents, porta-potties, trash can drums, were all blowing over. Literally had to dodge rolling drums moving thru the paddock. The sand infested chicken was a treat Varkwso offered off his grill but I opted to get a BBQ sandwich instead.

The wind was even a deterent to getting any real speed on the front straight. Car was shimmying at anything above 140mph. My problem was that neither member of Team England wanted to come play with me in the advanced group. Jake was even hiding out and beating up on the blue group except for a Radical..

I made it to the event and had a blast. I was lucky enough to pull varkwso as my instructor, and got a lot faster because of him. I now have three words burned into my brain: "Throttle, throttle, throttle".

Thanks again varkwso. You were a fantastic instructor.

He was indeed getting around well for a rookie. Good work. Got to get me one of those throttle sticks.

Did Z06Cool make it home ok?

Sounds familiar. Jim probably hopes to never say those words again after wearing them out today but fortunately the last two sessions something clicked and he had me moving much quicker albeit with lots of room for improvement.

Good to meet everyone.

Steve,

It was good meeting you. Enjoyed riding with you. You did great. Maybe you can talk your wife/significant other into roadtripping with you up to VIR for Chin's July event! Hope to be instructing there and spending another 4 straight days on track with Chin & the Corvette Museum (assuming my wife cooperates and takes the kids to visit her parents again this year). I'll get the pictures squared away in the next week or so and get you any that turned out well. See you next time!

Thanks again for everything Jim. Definitely had a great time while you were instructing and riding along while you were blowing by people on the track. We might make a week out of it and head out to VIR in july, sounds like a lot of fun. Keep me updated if you end up instructing out there.

Steve

Good to see so many Corvettes. I’m sure I will see a number of you at Barber in a month, and some of you at Road Atlanta next weekend.

Did anyone get the info on the black Corvette that lost the engine (Or at least oil) on the end of the front stretch?

I still can't believe how strong the wind was on Saturday. It got rough dodging flying debris and rolling trashcans all day.

I was just looking through the pictures I took, and this one stood out. Looks like wmk32 on the first lap of the day at sunrise on Sunday.

It was great to see so many 'Vettes at Roebling this weekend! It still boggles my mind how many people spend the money on these cars and never have the kind of fun we had this weekend. I live in Jacksonville, so Roebling is my "home track" but looking forward to doing some more events with Chin at some other tracks later this year. Hope to see y'all there.
