Default LG G stop front brake set up

Has anyone run the LG GStop Front brake set up with stock rotors for track days?

These are Wilwood 6 Piston calipers with LG bracket. Allows you to use stock rotors.

I have. No problems at all. Changing pads is quick and easy. There is a wide range of pads for them.

Oh, and they stop you like crazy.

I've run 3 race weekends on the same set of pads so far, and they dont show signs of being done just yet.

probably the best brake system per $ out there (that's why I'm using it). Quite a few guys using it, and I don't think I've ever heard a negative comment. Is it as good as something like the the StopTech package? Probably not, but more than enough for 98% of corvette drivers at a fraction of the cost.

Did you keep the stock rears? Do you use stock rotors?
How is the rotor wear?

you can keep the stock rears and rotor wear depends on the pad compound you select with many available.

Thanks John ,

I will be using H pads most likely. Thats what I use now with my stock setup. I get 4-5 days on a rotor with the H's. The pads last 8-10 days and are only at about 1/2 worn by then. Are there any other brands that will fit that caliper?

it is shape #7420 I guess you have to search but it is probably the most common caliper around. Running hard you won't get much more than 4-5 days on a NAPA rotor or even 3. I went to a 13" Stoptech rotor which is a Direct replacment for a OEM. I put SL-4 on the rear with 13" stock rotor.

I have them and they are great. I wear rears out at about 3/1 to the fronts. I did put in the Rippe master cylinder and it really help with the pedal feel. Rock hard now and they do STOP

you shouldn't need a different master to get a high hard pedal. Piston volumes are near identical in size from stock to Wilwood.

Will these work with 17" CCW wheels?

John, what CCW wheel measurements do you run front and back? I presume you use the 'classic'?

I run the A compound and love them. When the A compound gets hot the stopping in incredible. The downside is that the A compound eats rotors. I wear out rotors before I wear out pads.

Oh, and if brake pad dust bothers you you might not like the A compound. On the other hand when I ned to make the right turn off the Sebring back straight brake dust is the least of my concerns.
