Best pads for st-60/st-40 calipers?
I was told to "bed in" my rotors (slotted 14" stoptech aero rotors) w/ Hawk ht-10 pads and now want a race pad available. I track the car 14-18x/yr and also use it as a daily driver. I heard that the pfc 01 pads were made for this caliper and were quite good. any opinions and sources for the cheapest purchase?

pfc 01 compound is good for RR but not real good for the street as they are dirty and very hard to clean if they get wet. They stop OK when cold. Try LGM but I don't think he sells PFC

I've got the ST-60's in the front and stock set up in the rear. That was my buddy Matthew in the silver Z06. It's pretty close to stock. He has an air cleaner, tune, Stoptech fronts, T-1 sways and Hoosiers.

We've had good luck with the Hawk DTC-70, they don't last as long as the PFC 01 but are a great pad that's easy on rotors. You really can't go wrong with either. Otherwise try Porterfield and see what Raybestos pads they have for the ST-60 you may want to try the Raybestos ST41 compound which is similar to the Wilwood H.

According to Performance Tech, our speed shop, the stock brake cooling vents are pretty good.
Mike, I realize it's one thing to watch the grp 2 guys drive by and another to be out there driving with you! Question Mike, at Homestead turn 7 are u foot to the floor at the chin turn in cone or before that? what speed do u hit b4 braking for turns 8, 10, and 1? I know some guys don't or can't look at the speedo, but I'm trying to decrease my lap times safely and took your advice about braking later in order to carry a higher mph just prior to braking. I'm just finding it hard to delve closer to the limit safely

63 Corvette - Funny you mention that because I just received some ducting hose today to try to get the brakes some additional cooling. I'll probably try to rig up something myself before going to spindle ducts.
urslooow - I actually never look at the speedometer. The best thing to do is to find a good instructor and let him drive your car with you as a passenger. It only takes a few laps and the differences in style will be pretty obvious. We'll be at the April Chin event at Sebring so if you are there you could follow us around a few laps and/or go for a ride with us.

I use Hawk ceramics for the street.
