F-1 is back next week!

I'd like to see more than two teams be competitive. I'd like to see Red Bull and Toro Rosso be competitive now that they are driving Newey designed cars. I'd like to see Honda finally get their act together with Ross Brawn. I'd like to see BMW break through this season.
What will probably happen though is that the Red cars will probably run away with it.

Who cares? I'm tired of the parade lapping they call racing. I'd rather watch an autocross.
Speed should bring back the WRC.

There is so much passing in NASCAR that passing doesn't mean anything. It's like watching a basketball game when the final scores are 142-140. That's why I usually watch just the last 10 laps of a NASCAR race. Even then, the order is often shuffled again because they might have two or three yellows in the last 10 laps.

The thing with F1 is that you need to follow qualifying and possibly practice as well as the race. Unlike NASCAR, qualifying actually means something. You can start at the back at most NASCAR races and still win the race. Some may find F1 too predictable, but I find NASCAR too unpredictable because there is too much passing, too many yellows and the races are too long.

I think that they are moving back in the right direction by eliminating traction control, going to less aero and possibly back to slick tires.

I think it'll also add a bit more randomness to the races in that changing conditions won't be automatically compensated for by the computers.
I'm a NASCAR fan (heck, I'm a fan of just about any form of motorsports), and I can't wait for the F1 season to begin!
Have a good one,
Mike
