Good seat for my C5 for street and race?
OK, I drive my C5 about 10k miles per year including a couple 6+ hour drives so I need something fairly comfortable. However, I would like a seat that grips a little better for Auto-X use. Any suggestions? Thanks

I track and daily drive my C5 and found the Sparco Evo to be a great seat that you can install and just leave it there - its comfortable enough for long trips. It's a trade-off between comfort and design to hold you in for road racing and auto-x. Pay for a quality seat and you'll be much happier. Mike

Cannot agree more...I went the cheap route the first time...it was OK, but then I went the $$$ route and it was worth every penny (Kirkey deluxe seat)
Now, what you will find, the words street and track do not go very well together so I highly suggest just swaping seats in and out. Once you setup your track seat the first time, the swap is simple and easy to do.

Also, my wife and I BOTH Auto-X the car on the same day, so the forward/back slide ability is a MUST.

I don't use sliders for my race seats since only I drive the C5. You can purchase a set of Sparco Seat Sliders, but will raise the seat some, which may or may not be an issue depending on how much head room you have with your helmet on.

Questions on seat rails & swapping factory/track seats:
- can I have seat rails and be able to swap in/out seats easily?
- also, I'm guessing the factory power seat feature will be lost in its entirety?
Thanks,
DC

I have used a Corbeau for many years now - it is not bad for long trips - and is much better than stock at the track.
With about 8 inches difference in height, not to mention a girth difference, we require a slider...or dedicated car for each person.
I have a Sparco Evo I am going to install in one car as soon as I can afford the slider base...

Sorry for the hijack to the OP but does anyone have experience with the Kirkley intermediate road race seats?
they are priced right, but from the looks, even with the covers and pads, I can't believe they are very comfortable. How would these be for a couple hour drive on the highway and doing a full day of racing?
I'm asking because I've only ever sat in their drag race seats before and won't want to spend more then one 10 second pass at a time in them.

I found them to be pretty good. Work nice for autocross and street. They use the stock seat rails so keep the electrics if you have them. You do sit higher though and any slop in the rails is felt more than in the stock seats. I'm not sure if the harness geometry of the lap belt is idea. Will work with factory seat belts too.
