Another Brake Fluid question
I know this may have been answered a few times but a search turned up nothing on my end... I have been using Castrol LMA for HPDE events as well as street use... at 7 Bucks for a big bottle I would just push almost 2 bottles through the system before the event.
But I found a good deal on the Motul 600 Fluid and would like to be more accurate in my brake bleeding as to not waist the fluid.
Has anyone figured out how much to bleed out of each caliper and line to completely flush it out? For example... RR drain 2.5 oz LR 2.0 oz FR xx LF xx....
??? :-)

I'm all for procedures, but for this some specific amount of fluid isn't going to work. It'll depend on too many factors.
Just bleed until the fluid looks clear and you don't see any bubbles coming out. :-)

You can use the ATE - it comes in blue and amber. Just switch colors between the two between bleedings and you will know when the old is gone.

I would figure on buying one quart/liter of fluid. This will be enough for a complete fluid flush including the ABS lines and pump. Use a Motive pressure bleeder (don't put fluid into the bottle, just air pressure) and pressurize the bleeder to about 20 psi.
This will be enough pressure in the C5 system to bleed the ABS along with the rest of the system. You do have to keep an eye on the master cylinder reservoir so that you don't run it dry!!.
A quart is more than enough and provides you with extra fluid for bleeding before each event. Motul has a sustantially higher wet and dry boiling point (it's a DOT4 rating) than the Castrol LMA which is a good DOT3 fluid for street and autocross use.
As mentioned, Speed Bleeders are great for bleeding when prepping for a track day. 2-4 oz per wheel should be enough to remove any old fluid that may have boiled during an event.
