Default Z06 Pads on Track?

I've never run on the track with street tires or street pads. Always R compound and full race pads. I'm interested in seeing how it would perform on street tires. I just put on a set of Vredestein's. I'm very impressed with their street capabilities.

Wondering if OEM Z06 pads would be fine or would I cook them. I have a set on the shelf. I've got cooling ducts and ATE Super Blue. Track is Hallett which is hard on brakes. What do you think?

Rick

I would think you will be fine. I've used the Z06 pads for the past 4 years or so and never had a problem. Always used DOT 5.1 fluid and don't have any cooling ducts other than stock.

I ran stock Z pads for a year and they were fine. You will not have the ultimate stopping power of race pads, so watch your threshold braking for the first session to get the feel of the car.

I'm about ready to try them on my C6. However, the pads I got have different shape. See this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1973133
