Can i wear my bra?
I have been to a few HPDE events and never seen anyone running a BRA... I recently purchased one for a few road trips....
Can you use them at most HPDE events? How bout the NCM event coming up in june?

I would get rid of the bra and have 3M film applied instead, real protection, will not as mentioned get stuff under it, a bra is not a cars best friend.

bra
I have the GM one for my 04 Z.
I've been using it for 4 seasons. Works great. It fits very tight. Never a problem with scratching paint. Remove when you come home, hose down the felt side. and let it air dry. I use Stoner Interior trim cleaner on the outside to remove bugs etc.
Now protecting rockers and door sides is another challenge.

BRA for HPDE
I've been doing HPDE's for 20 years (instruting for 16) and NONE of the groups I run with will allow them on the car while on track. It is a huge potential safety issue if it were to come off at speed and obstruct your windshield or that of another car.
You'd be amazed at what wind can do when at 100-140mph.
While going up through the esses at Watkins Glen (over 100mph) I had the fortune of being the first driver to encounter a whale tail that somehow blew off of a 911-- and was laying right in the middle of the line. Quite a surprise to have to do evasive action manuver while at full throttle and carrying a lot of side g force!!
As others have mentioned, a Bra general causes mre damage than it protects you from ( traps moisture against the paint, dirt gets trapped underneath and rubbed against paint, marks from flapping of edges not secure, etc).
Best bets: the "clear" bra made with the 3M urethane film and there is another product that is a spray on or roll-on type of latex that I have seen a few guys use.

Melting Slicks
I've been running a stock GM bra on a C5 coupe for 5 years and over
100 events and never had any issues with the bra or with any group.
Like mentioned above clean it up some and it won't scratch. My hood
is pitted a lot, but the front is prety much like new. Like also mentioned
above, protecting the rocker panels is another stroy.

I have run HPDE's with a Speed Lingerie Bra at speeds of 140+...no problems whatsovever. Say what you will but, it protects the front end!

I have been running a Colgan Bra for HPDEs. I have found that I have to use 4" blue tape from over the head lights on an angle to the center front in a V shape and that keeps the wind from getting under the bra and lifting it up. If you dont use the tape, the bra starts to flap at 140. With the tape it works great. PM me if you need more details. JD
