Default Drug testing for drivers?

So, how would you like to find out that the driver next to you was on heroin??

NASCAR's stars are calling for better drug testing measures after former Nationwide and Truck Series driver Aaron Fike, pictured, revealed that he was addicted to painkillers and sometimes used heroin at the track on the same day he raced.

I have been involved with drug testing and sports since 1975. ( that is when we had the GOOOOD STUFF) :

Test the athletes as long as all the officials, marshals, event promoters and fans are tested. Have to be fair to everyone or no one.

Officials and marshals are responsible for the safety of those on-track. Test them and the drivers. Promoters and fans? Silliness. :-)

Is Lord Calvert still cleared to co-drive?

He and his friends used to get a lot of seat time.

When I raced boats this guy would be slugging from a bottle of Scotch on a brown paper bag on the dock after he passed the morning physicals. We would know to stay way clear of him on the starts The would look in your eyes and do the drop stick test. Broom stick held under your palms which were facing downward. You had to catch the stick when they dropped it.
