Default Kumho 710 Pressures

I've searched and can't seem to find the info. Looking for a starting point for 710's at an upcoming track day at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. 04 Z-06 bone stock.

Thank you,

Kevin

Start at the mid 20's. You'll probably go lower from there.

I followed Falcons advice and loved the results...and I do go a bit lower as the track requires it...

Even Varkwso? Saw a Chris Ingle post suggesting really low starting pressure (18-19R and 20-21F) one time and followed it. Give it an extra lap warming up and those worked well for me. Just for grins, I tried it in the high 20's to start and was slipping and sliding.

Yep, Chris goes that low. I normally started mine out at ~26 front 24 rear and would go to 24 -22 as the day wore on. I never had the nerve to go as low as Chris.

Wow you guys are running those things low. I ran the 710's on my cobra in the low 30's.

I start my R6's at about the same as the 710's, 27 front and 25 rears and lower from there, depending on the track temp. I'm not as familiar with the R6's characteristics, yet, as I am with the 710's, but they get a bunch of grip after they warm up. It seems to take a bit longer to heat up than the 710's. I'll start them a little lower as my familiarity picks up.

I just got a set of A6's and they're supposed to be real grippy very quickly. I'll start them out at the same pressures as the R's unless I find out something different. We'll see.

I'm sure there are guys more familiar with the Ho Ho tires than me who will chime in here shortly.

I start my 710's 21R/22F in for "normal" track conditions. They end up hot at about 28/29 and the tires seem pretty happy there. Judging by how far they're rolling over, it looks like I could go down another couple of pounds, but that super-squishy feeling on the first lap is unnerving to me!

Jody, 25F-22R is a good starting point for both R6 and A6 tires. Many T-1 racers start them at 22F-20R and diehards may go down to 19R.

I find 2 to 3 PSI differential F-R makes for a balanced feel to the car on the track.

YMMV since you drive faster than me.

Frank Gonzalez

P.S.: You will LOVE the A6s. They grip like flypaper, but bring lots of money to buy new ones, as they wear out fairly fast.

Kumhos I ran 30F / 28R Hot pressure.

For the R6s I have been all over the place. I tried low temps and didnt like the feel so I kept moving them up. Now I am 38 F / 36 R hot temps and they seemed to work fine. I am not sure if my lower psi problems were because they were new tires and I wasnt use to them compared to the Kumhos.

I think Hoosier says 40 psi for the R6

I have no idea, but I know I like them now...
