A First Indy Car History (beware winner spoiler)
I’m not the biggest fan of Indy but I thought this was cool.
Danica Patrick became the first female winner in IndyCar history Sunday, taking the Indy Japan 300 after the top contenders were forced to pit for fuel in the final laps. And for the ones that said she would never win a race. :o

never thought she would win so I'll eat crow. She lost a few times for fueling so it is all part of the game and a good win.

There's a monkey off her back now!! Now she can focus on winning races and posing for us!!
Now where's that Sports Illustrated spread?
Congratulations on the win.
(got to have a picture in a Danica Patrick thread!!!)

I really thought she would win. I think all the "exposure" she has had, and the things that she has participated in, like the SI spread, have not helped opinions of her as a driver. But I guess if you got it, flaunt it.
Let me help you out Ted...

Ms Patrick might have won the Indy 500 in 2005 (after qualifying 4th,
no less) had it not been for unfortunate fueling strategy.
Back then she was forced to choose whether to maintain race pace
and possibly fail to finish or slow her pace and risk being passed.
Despite what anyone says, fourth place back then was a successful
outcome for her.
Go Danica ...

Congrats to her.
I know I would give a nut to just have the chance to drive one of those cars like she does.
