Default Trackmania racing game

don't know if it's been posted, but cool little racing game. It's not a simulation, but a virtual extreme racing game. It's pretty addictive, the online racing is great, and it's free (they have a paid version with more content).

You can also use red/blue 3D glasses with it for more effect (I just ordered a set on ebay).

Anyway, drop me a not if you want to try it. You can download it on your own, but we get brownie points (ie unlock tracks) for sending invitations to new players.

I just have to bump this, I've become addicted to the online game play. It's a lot of fun, FREE, and is good for the "twitch" reflexes.

I'm y2khardtop if you decide to try it.

I tried to figure out how to play it, but I guess I'm just too stupid. How do you do it?

you use the arrow keys....that's it. There is a single player games where you advance through levels to get experience, then the online play is where all the fun is.

Some online games are 6minute time trials (ie your fastest lap counts), and some are head-to-head heat races awarding points.

Either way, it's a fun game.

Yeah that's pretty sweet. I tried to download it, but the publisher could not be verified. Did you have any issues when you downloaded it?

I watched the sample video and I have to have this. Do I have to buy it here?

Guess I'm old....I don't care for the SpeedRacer futuristic racing with cars flying through the air and all. They just aren't for me.

I'll stick with realistic racing sims.

I just watched the trailer and the graphics look good.
Maybe if I was younger.

I have been doing iRace the last few weeks. Found it to be addictive as well. Now if I could only get that pig of car Solstice to handle well...

Hopefully iRace will get some more tintop cars.

I'm on the Irace list, but haven't been "invited" yet appearantly.

Trackmania is absolutely an ARCADE game, not a simulation, BUT the graphics are amazing, and once you master the single player levels, the online racing is lots and lots of fun. Physics can be unrealistic, as there is no DRAG in corners (making the fastest way around HUGGING the inside instead of apexing and tracking out), and the cars only understeer, but it's still fun.

Dave, I'll see about getting you in. But, it will cost you. You will have to teach me your craft and help me lower my laps times. I refuse to have Prill be faster then me.

This is just what I needed, something else to suck hours out of the day. You are right, it is addictive. See you on the track when I learn to drive with buttons. I am still trying to learn the real deal, now you throw me this curve. What are firends for

Pretty cool game.

If you like racing sims at all though you should do yourself a favor and
check out Live For Speed, you wont be disapointed. Online racing is the best in the sim business, although the community is mainly european.

Also, lfs is the only game I'm aware of that has an Autocross, and a layout editor that you can create your on course's.

Give the demo a try its free!!! http://www.lfs.net/

Check out the autocross http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjtHMKUN71I

the controller setup has setting for analog, so I assume you can use a console controler, possibly a joystick, but I think it's mostly a keyboard game. It's better than it sounds, once you get used to it.

This game does come with a free track editor, and many (if not most) of the online tracks are customs
