***Latest video Long Beach Corvette GT2 incar LG Motorsports
Hi Guys,
Here is the latest video from our ALMS GT2 Corvette from Long Beach.
Still working on our package and looking forward to new tires for next race.

We are working also to finish all the details on the car after Utah because it was clearly rushed to make Sebring.
Thanks again
Lou Gigliotti

Great video Lou. I really enjoy the in car shots you supply after each race. Are you changing tire supplier?

I enjoy making those shots
We are still working with Kumho and they are supposed to get us a new tire for Utah.
Stay tuned,
Lou G

Lou,
It looked like, from my vantage point in photo holes around turn 2, that you were involved in a pretty good race for your own position.
Will look forward to a full-on 2:45 race at Utah.

Wow. In this video the car sounds completely different from the video you posted with the Chin Motorsports tire test. Is this due to the restrictor being removed?

The ALMS car has each bank of the exhaust leaving out one side or the other. So you only hear 4 cylinders at a time rather than going through an X pipe or Y pipe/Merge collector.
Thanks

Is there a clutch?
Lou,
I know you've got a sequential gearbox in the car; do you ever use the clutch? From the videos, I can't tell from the sound.
Great driving BTW, always so smooth.

Tech question Lou; last years car, in one of your threads, you mentioned that you were still running the mono spring Vs. C/O's.......is this still true with your new car?
Thanks, & keep the Vids come'n

Lou, Great video. Thanks for posting. I have a couple of comments/questions.
On the 1st gear exit from the right hand "hairpin": do you have traction control which is engaging, or is your cam so big that the engine doesn't pull smoothly from such low revs?
I was impressed that the Porsche seemed to be able to stay ahead on the straight....but even more impressed that you seemed able to outbrake him...and also the green car (Viper?). I assume that the Ford GT was having some problems?
Your Corvette seems very stable under acceleration at all places on the track.
Again, I would kill for your transmission

Jim's car is probably the best Street/track conversion that I have ever driven.
We never did this much to a street Z06, all at one time, and I can tell you that it drives like a world Challenge car without the sequential shifter.
The car has our Coil over package, spherical bearing A arms, Drop spindles, Brembo, Front splitter and wing, Medium cam/head package, dry sump tank conversion, LG Radiator, Diff cooler, Big tire package, WC Louver hood, Racing seat, brake cooling ducts, Roll bar installed this week, AND it is RED
It was a hoot, and Jim was ripping up the track in spite of the fact that it was his first time seeing the track.
Glad that we had the opportunity to do the project for Jim.
------------
Coil over vs Monoleaf-- Coil over for sure. The leaf can not meet the challenge of pure racing and the necessary rigors.
-------------------
TC at Long Beach in the hair pin-- That stumble was from the lack of proper engine mapping in the extreme low RPM range. The mapping was too lean and if we hit just below the range, it would buck, which lost a ton of time. we had the shortest first gear in it and never thought that we would ever get that low on RPM, so the map was just a general map that was lacking severely.
Thanks

Yes. The World Challenge car had both exhaust pipes exit on one side on the right just below the door.
The ALMS car has each bank of the exhaust leaving out one side or the other. So you only hear 4 cylinders at a time rather than going through an X pipe or Y pipe/Merge collector.

I posted a video in your previous thread of you blowing by me on the back straight if you're interested.
Once again, sick car.

Oh so these are two different cars? That would explain it. In your Chin video the car sounds much higher pitched whereas this sounds very low.

That was coming out of turn 16, which leads on to the longest straight. I am surprised that it was so dramatic that early out of the corner.
Thanks
