Running HPDE Event with a patch tire
A couple days ago I got a nail through my left rear run flat tire in my C6 Z06. It was patched up and it is not losing any air. Do you guys feel it is unsafe to run my next HPDE event with this tire. I am still using the stock run flats and not slicks as I am still in the beginning stages of learning to track my car

Check the thread list there is a current topic on this. I've run them before with no problem, so have many others.

Goodyear says you can have 2 patch repairs per tire and that you lose 1 speed rating per repair so keep that in mind.
Personally I have run runflats and other tires with plug/patch combo and never had an issue.
Just watch your air pressures throughout the day.

Here's a link to a Goodyear bulletin to their dealers on repairing high speed rated runflat tires (it's talking about tires on police cruisers, but should apply to any runflat):
http://www.goodyear.com/cfmx/web/gov...e/psb_9811.cfm
Main thing it says is that if the damage is in the tread area (not beyond the last tread groove or in the sidewall), not more than 1/4 inch in diameter, there's not more than one repair, and it's repaired properly with the approved plug/patch procedure, then the tire will maintain its speed rating.

If that is the case I am 100% in. Hopefully you will have me set up with some spindle ducts and new pads by then. Look forward to talking to you soon.
Thanks again for everyone advice
