Default Motor Sports Ranch 5-4 Pics

Here are some pics from MSR. I was testing a new Video Camera mount so I will have to see when I process the Vids.

Awesome weather, tough and humbling track. Tight technical 3.1 Mile Course. It was my first weekend on the track and my first time in my car on R-Rated semi-soft tires.

The tires left me braking early, adjusting and searching for my limits most of the day.

Rick a recent RR convert and showing Class A speed. His car windshield class patches look like a rainbow. He went from green to blue to Yellow very quickly and made red run group this weekend at Motor Sports Ranch.

His sled is a C5 Z06 with LG LTs no cats, Brembo Fronts, PFADT Sways and Coilover. Custom Cage. CCW C6 18x10, 18x11 with R888s. Built by 21st Century Musclecars

Fastest of the Red Run Group and builder of my car and Ricks, John Page of 21st Century Musclecars in his LS3 with Brembo Fronts. John has PFADT Coilovers, and Sways. He was spanking GT3 Cups on a handling track. His LS3 has the same cam as my car and Ricks. He makes more HP than I do. The GT3 Porsche is extremely fast around this course and Eagles Canyon. Great job to keep the Vette out front.

So, what did you think of the course? I've run the 1.7 several times, but every time I've asked if we could run the 3.1, I got looks of terror.

Thanks, and have a good one,
Mike

I liked the course but you need to have it committed to memory. Blind and very slow speed corners. not as much fun for me as the 1.7.

That's pretty cool. You took some nice pictures. I was out there on Friday running the 3.1. I had only run it once before. It really challenges you on those blind corners. Did you get any lap times recorded? What were you running?

I was there and agree the weather was awesome. Track was fast.
I was running #12 (Mag Red C5 coupe) in Yellow run group. My first time to run Hoosier R6 for the whole weekend. I love them.

There was one little Lotus that couldn't believe I was all over him in the corners. They are used to leaving the Vettes behind. The Hoosiers were sticking like glue compared to street tires.

This was my second time to run the 3.1. The new part is challenging and will make you gut-check in a few places. I finally got pretty good at Turn 7 - bottom of the hill. I was braking too much and losing speed out of the turn. But I was still overly cautious on turn 9 - the big sweeper at the bottom of the blind hill. I spun there my first time to solo on the 3.1. Still plays with my head.

You don't want to go off on the new section.

MSR is a fun track.

The 1.3 section is brutal if your off-line by any non-tiny margin.

You didn't happen to get any pictures of a green M3 with an LS1 did you?

Not a good one. I heard it run but did not see it on track.

Was there too!
Thks for including me in one of your pics, C5 Yellow Z.
My third time on the 3.1 and have R compounds for the first time. Made a big difference. This track takes time to learn. New section is technical.
Hope to see you again.
I'm also a 21st CMC customer.

Glad to see so many Corvette owners having so much fun road racing.

We were tire testing our Corvette on the 1.7 mile CCW track on the 30th. I really like the 1.7 track to set the car up.

It has high speed and low speed corners to dial in the mechanical grip as well as the aero balance.

We did a new best time at a 1:10.54 but this time on Dunlop tires.

I haven't been to Eagles Canyon yet but soon.

We hope to have an LG track day out there some time soon.

Keep road racing. I'm with you.

thanks
Lou Gigliotti

Permanent switch? Or testing?

I think you'll like Eagles Canyon alot Lou.
Good elevation changes, turns, and long straights. Great Corvette track. Very technical IMO.

Who's going to do TMS at night?
I'm thinking about it.

Default LG Track day

I'm in for a LG track day. Anthony has my car #961 in the picture running great, now I just need tips from Lou to make it all come together.

Lap times were in the mid 2:30's for me.

Here's a couple of pics that I have:
