Default Is there a posi that can hold up to autocrossing?

I have a low mileage 91 that lights the inside tire on fire coming out of turns in an autocross. I don't think they make a Detroit Locker for the Dana 44. Are there any pre assembled carrier units out there that can handle the abuse? Thanks!

Our 86' lays down two 315mm wide stripes at will. Just a rebuilt stock 44 w/red line gear lube and NO friction modifier. Holds up well on track or at an autocross with two drivers that may be pretty hard on their equipment.

Out of curiosity, which of the Redline gear oils are you using?

It's been a few years but I think it's the 75/90. I'm not sure if it's the NS or not. I know we didn't add any friction modifier after the fact.

Back on topic.
Have you killed a D44 yet?
I thought they were pretty strong.
I don't think a sold axle conversion will help much in AX.

I was speaking to Paul Newman (not the actor) at Newman Car Creations and they have been working with Eaton to develop a Tru-Trac posi unit for the Dana-44. He expects it to be another couple of months before Eaton releases it to the market.

That's cool.

I know Quaife was coming out with a D44 diff.
They have a Viper D44 diff already. That's why the Vipers did so good in SpeedGT
I also know I wouldn't want to pay for it!

Most F body guys use the torsen T2R for autocross. I'm not sure if this is available for a vette. You can call Sam Strano (just google him) and ask him. He is a great help for autocross parts.

It's possible something broke in the suspension or your alignment is off. I've been using the Redline heavy shock proof in mine, also not adding anything more to it.

Also aren't there clutches in there? Perhaps those worn out or are stuck.
