Default Mosport in car video

I had an awesome day at Mosport yesterday, hosted by Apex Driver Training. It was my first time out at Mosport and cant say enough about this track, the elevations and speed are something else.

If you arent careful on this track its very easy to get in trouble as a viper found out in his first session, hitting the wall.

The day for me started with a brief driver meeting and was followed with 20 min sessions with 3 groups of 10 cars running in each group. I had an instructor with me all morning showing me the track line, what a huge help that was. Driving with him started off a bit slow but gradually, I was able to pick up the pace and increase my confidence.

Here is a video of me and my buddy Greg in the afternoon having fun.. Enjoy it... we did

Watching that video makes me miss moving from Ottawa/Toronto.

My first track event ever was Shannonville, and I grew up with Mosport and Mont Tremblant in the mix.

Many a friend has found the wall at Mosport. :-)

I used to crew for an F1600 car than ran Mosport all the time; one day they put the F1600 guys out with GT1 cars... and a warning about drafting them because they brake so much earlier. My driver tucked in behind one, wound out top gear and just got sucked along, and barely dodged the GT1 when he started to brake...

Sigh. I do miss those days.

You can see more great video from Mosport at my site as well. It is my FAVORITE track, especially since I have my only Pro victory and track record there.

I wish the track was closer, but I just can't drive 1200miles for an HPDE these days! Glad you had a great weekend. Mosport is the FASTEST track in north america (ie ALL the corners are fast)

Shannonville is the track I usually go to for HPDEs and LD's. I'm also booked to run at Mont Tremblant July 4th

WOW, after watching ALL of that video, I feel very slow ...hahaha. Excellent driving and yes I can see how it is a favourite course for people. I got up to 135mph on the back straight so I cant even imagine what you were up to

Nice Video Steve, looks you guys had a great day at Mosport. I was going to go but Niteal had Shannonville Fabi booked on the following day so I did that instead. We had a good time as well and Niteal did a 1'11.79" in his Posche. We also did some 1/4 mile drags at the end of the day just for fun. I lost to his Porsche by 1 1/2 car lengths...

What event is on July 4th at Tremblant?

165ish....the cars were much slower then than they are now. Around 500hp and we were on T1S street tires (the RA1's were not available yet).
