Default First Track Day w/ my "New" Track Car

Recently bought a C4 track car from forum member "VetRacer".

Had the opportunity to make the second day of a two day event at our local track Mid America Motorplex in Glenwood Iowa.

The Red C4 performed very well, only problem so far is the GT-1 tube frame ex Transam Camaro that's been calling my name for last two weeks !!!

Here's some pictures from Sunday

Very nice!!

I followed your thread when you were looking for a car and ended up with the C4.

So how did the car perform at the track?

VERY well - in less than 25 laps I was able to run lap times equal to "mid race cruise mode" laps that I ran w/ the tube frame SCCA GT-1 Firebird (see my avatar) we raced a few years ago.

"VetRacer" was not exaggerating when he said the motor made lots of horsepower, and the Alcon brakes are superb !!!

The first time out, the best lap was a 1:44.

It was very cool and the tires never got up to temp so I'm pretty confident the car will run low 1:40s, maybe even 1:38-1:39 if I mount some Goodyear slicks.

I'm hoping those times will be competitive for the NASA TT coming up at the end of June.

Definitely one of the nicest C4 track cars around! I hope to see it in person one of these days... you only need 5 days worth of TT's to qualify for Nationals ahe??

What Emery did not mention was that the day was cold, with standing water on one portion of the track. (on the line). He was doing a good job. I don't think the temp rose above 60 degrees in the afternoon. C 4's still rock!
Could someone pm me the link to the Vette magazine article about Emery's racer.
