Default Valve Seal / VIR

I think i have a valve seal bad on the ole Z .... I get a puff of smoke on start up after she sits a bit... Oil consumption seems to be up a bit as well over 3K miles... Gonna do a leak down / compression test ect to make sure no ring issues... Question is.......... if I have a Valve Seal bad should it be fixed before VIR run in June? Do they just leak like mine is doing or do they totally fail?

Default

shouldn't fail, the valve is locked by 2 little keys, the seal is completely separate as I remember. If if is just puffing and startup, and you aren't fouling plugs constantly, than you may be OK for a little while

...but I could be wrong
