WTB: C5 Race Pads - Front & Rear
Anybody have pads laying around they want to sell. Fronts and rears for stock calipers. Used or new.

I've got a set of PFC 01s I don't intend to use.
The fronts have 1 track day on them, the rears are brand new. They're yours for $300 shipped, or PM me with an offer if you're interested.

I am a Cobalt Friction dealer and have them in stock. Cobalt is a fairly new brand and isn't as well known as others around here. Once you try them though, you will never go back. I have been racing in SCCA for 11 years now and these are the best I have ever used. Give me a call if you are interested, 630-844-0089.

Rick,
Cost for Cobalt Friction brake pads is:
C5/6 front pads in XR2 compound - $279.00
C5/6 front pads in XR3 compound - $269.00
C5/6 rear pads in XR2 compound - $249.00
C5/6 rear pads in XR3 compound - $239.00
Rusty,
Are they more expensive? Compared to what pad and what compound?
This is what I know. I have just returned from racing this past weekend with our brand new C6 racecar. I have run the car in the Pfadt HPDE event at Gingerman a couple of weekends ago, 4 full sesions, the last at least 1/2 hour long. This weekend I ran a 15 minute practice session, a 20 minute qualifying session, and a 30 minute race. Below are pictures of the pads and rotors after the two events. The total wear on the pads was .060". Also of note was the taper in the pad which was only .010". We run a 6 piston AP Racing caliper with variable piston sizes. Some think that 6 piston calipers are overkill and a waste of money. Let me see you run 7 race sessions and have a .010" taper from end to end on your pads with a 4 piston or the floating 2 piston design. Also check out those rotors. Not a crack or a groove worn into them. These are our custom designed Coleman Racing rotors with our own Performance AFX aluminum hats. How many Napa rotors would you have gone thru already? My guess is that I will run the entire season on 1 set of front rotors just like I did last year. On top of all that, this combination stops the car like nothing I have run before!
So, to answer your question, are they more expensive? Perhaps the initial cost is more, depending on what you are running. However, if they perform better, last longer, and don't tear up your rotors, which is really more expensive?

Hard to quantify how much pad is used/remaining based on "one track day". Some days I've do 220+ track miles and go through a new set of pads. Also would like to see if any taper.
Thx
