Default Oil filters

What do you guys use? I have used Amsoil and K&N. Anything better out for doing DE stuff?
Thanks
Tim

There are a number of decent filters that will work. Mobil-1, NAPA, Purolator are all good filters. Just stay away from Fram, Pennzoil, and the low end (cheap) filters.

AC DELCO UPF 44 - GM high performance filter - better filtration than stock and inexpensive. Forum vendors have them for about $50.00 per case of 6 shipped. Been using for 5 years and no oil problems.

I just changed to Wix filters in my high mileage regularly autocrossed engine, and saw about a 5-8 psi increase in oil pressure. This is consistent with others that have coverted to the Wix filters. Haven't heard any complaints about poor filtration, and when I change my oil next time I'll get a report from Blackstone labs; we'll see if they have any comments about it.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

I have had this filter for a couple of years on the Z06. I like it. But then I am somewhat **** about engine condition. I even use a kitchen strainer when draining the oil pan to make sure no large metal pieces exit the crankcase.

Buy it and enjoy it......

Amazon.com is (was?) having a special on K&N oil filters. I just ordered a bunch for $8.xx per with free shipping.

IIRC...NAPA filters are just rebranded WIX filters...just a little cheaper.

Can anyone confirm?? That is all I have used on all of my vehicles.

The race shop I use got their hands on an indendant analysis of various filters and will now ONLY use AC DELCO UPF 44. They swear by GMs brand of oil filter and spark plugs.
