HD front bearings now available from Hardbar
We are very happy to announce that we now have HD bearings ready for immediate, (24 hour) delivery. We have fronts for C5/C6 or C4 rears. The C4 fronts and C5/C6 rears will be available in August. We also offer them with pre-installed ARP or GM Racing studs for $40 extra.
Tapered Roller Bearing and Bearing Race Design
•Nitrate Hardened Race For Improved Durability
•Roller Bearing Design Increases Side Load Surface For Longer Life
•Increase Hub Bearing Size for Increased Strength
•American Made and Forged
•Built To ISO 9001 and TS16949 Manufacturing Standards Van Steel in conjunction with a leading American wheel hub bearing manufacturer have designed, packaged and produced a tapered roller bearing hub bearing.
For years GM has used a ball bearing hub bearing for the C4/5/6 generation Corvette. This design works and lasts quite well in normal driving. With increased side loading from extreme and spirited driving, pre-mature bearing wear has prompted the design to incorporate a tapered roller bearing mated to a pressed in, super hard, bearing race. This design improves wear through an increased surface area and a harder bearing race. The larger hub design is to better accommodate the bearing race and increase the surface mounting area to the up-right for reduced deflection. Installation is as easy as an OE bearing and can be accomplished with average abilities and tools.

Will they last longer than the 3 track miles I normally get from Timken bearings
I have been very sucessful with SFK bearings.
Moderately sucessful with GM bearings.
Timken was the absolute worst I ever used, and luckily autozone took them back.
Will you at least give us a 100 track mile warrenty
Also, on my trails and tributions with bearings, it seems to help to run them 200 miles on the street, before slapping race tires on, and tracking them. Do you recommend the same ??

A couple of questions:
Do they have the ABS sensor attachment, and if so, is there a cheaper version without?
Can you ship them without studs so I can put in my own?
Any discount for sets of 2 or 4 (when the C4 fronts come out, anyway)?
Any warranty?
Thanks for supporting us C4 guys!

They will work with any spindles that can use the OE bearings. In addition we are now offering a bolt upgrade kit that gets rid of the annoying Torx head bolts that loosen and strip out when you try to remove them. Our kit uses US made grade 12.9 (175,000 PSI) 12 point head M12's with Nordlocs and a new lower Nyloc nut with hardened washer. Here are some installed pics of the bearings with the new bolt kit. Danny Popp has well over 300 racing miles on his new bearings and no issues. I am certain that these will way outlast any other bearing by many times.
Here are some installed pics with the Hardbar bolt kit and ARP studs.

I will have to get some of these once I get my motor in. I've gone through way too many.
Also, many 4th gen f-body guys have been working on this exact setup, and there is some market. 4th gen's take almost the identical front hub as a C4 (holes are threaded and bolts come from the back).

Like I said, I just wanted an option, whether is was me selling them or someone else. Actually this works out nice, since a friend of mine is selling them.

It would be awesome if they can be here in Houston for installation on Wednesday 18 June in anticipation of a Friday 20 June track event.
Thanks,
Paul

Not officially, but we will stand behind them if there are any premature failures. Danny Popp has the most miles on his, and I am going destructively (tear them apart) test mine at 1000 track miles and then periodically after that.

Burning Brakes
Please post how the new bearings take the abuse from the track. When they finish the fronts for my 96 I hope the front brake heat does not run the greese out thru the seal like the ball bearing GM design.
Good Luck
