Default I'm looking for a reasonably price Diff cooler for the C6

While my 08 C6 Z51 is certainly not a dedicated track car, I do like to get out on some spirited canyon runs, as well as some romps on the roadcourse. I'm heating up the clutch pacs too much and need some cooling protection. I've already switched out the Z51 oil cooler for the Z06 cooler, but need some protection for my diff.

I'm looking for the best bang for the buck in this area.

Thanks in advance!!!

JB

Hey Joel!

Price no object(PWR) in Wildomar, Ca by Cunningham Motorsports...they are precision IMO. They may give you a good price!

Bang for your buck...Summit Racing for what you're looking for.
You may want to check HRP and Racepartwholesale, Porterfield as well.

Good luck brother---Ed

just go to HRP and order an electric fluid pump and a heat exchanger. The C5 had a 20mm fittings, and I assume the C6 is the same, so you'll need some adapters and AN line to plumb it all up.

http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?fo...action=product pump-significantly cheaper than weldon etc

Summit/Jegs also has them

Do you have coilovers??? If not you will have one hell of a time getting a drain fitting to work. I have a kit for 649 that comes with pump, cooler, lines. It works very well!!!

I found a next to new Z06 cooler on the boards for $250 delivered. I just pulled the clips on my Z51 and it fit like a glove on my 08 C6. I've done one canyon run, and it seemed to do pretty well. I've yet to track test it, so I can't say if this is the exact fix or not for the C6, but it works for the Z06.

Hey Randy,

This C6 was supposed to be my backup car... no coilovers on it. I do like to track it once in a while. Problem is, one weekend of me driving it hard at Spring Mountain has beaten the hell out of the clutch pacs.

Why will it be hard to fit the drain line, due to the leaf spring???

Thanks, I'll probably give you a call if I can get a minute today.

The leaf is right under the drain hole. You can drill and tapped a out port. But I suggest pulling the diff, because a bunch of shavings will be harder on the diff then the heat.

I never had any problem with clearance on a C5 with leafs. It's snug, but not a problem. I haven't done a C6.

So does the C6 not have a threaded drain hole on the bottom????

The C5s are no problem. But when they moved the stuff around for the C6 it was a huge road block.

I had the guys at Unitrax look under my car when they put the diff back in today, and they said there was more room under the drain on my 08 C6 then there was on the C5s...

Humm, that is great news. Here is a picture of the worst case situation. We ended up building a guard also, incase of a off.
