Default Good News for Nelson Ledges

I haven't been to that place in ten years and swore I would never go back. If this is true I might reconsider.

This is very exciting. I do not know who the prospective buyer is, but let me be very clear, it is NOT me. Scott and I did have a casual conversation last year, but nothing beyond that. Good luck to whoever obtains this diamond in the rough. It will be so cool to have it updated.

Cool deal, but it won't be the same. I love Nelson's just the way it is but I know a lot of others that don't.

It will be missed and look forward to the new changes. Hopefully NASA will return their after the rebuild.

I just hate to have my home track down for "major. major." redo. I'm sure it will be great when its done, I just hope its equally as accessable. Just give me a paved infield...that's all I ask.

Right.. Especially like the charming restroom facillities. Last time I was there it was a 55 gallon oil drum cut in half and a toilet seat on top with an open sewage pit below... particularily impressive for the ladies..

Great track layout though...

New smoother surface, wider, new facilities sounds great. The country club idea has worked at Autobahn in Joliet Ill. We will be there in August.

I'm with ya Tintin. The surface in the rain on a motorcycle is bad enough but my last trip in '98 we were dodging 2-3' diameter pot holes !!

I'd say that's why I stopped going but the restrooms and facilities were the last straw for my girlfriend at the time......

Right now the restrooms are 100% better then when I was there in the 80's and the track was partially resurfaced about 3 years ago, maybe 4 now. It's no Barber or Autobahn but it's very runable.

Plus it's very reasonable to go there for testing and on their Fundays.

Nope! That was probably John S????. and Ron hutter with their black T1 cars. Black seems to be the color of choice around their huh?

They are new to SCCA and working on regionals in order to get their National license.

Yes, I understand that Autobahn is doing quite well, even with its substantial initiation fee. Is there are a market for a similar venture in the Nelson Ledges area? Which is the nearest metro city?

Nelson is mid-way between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Plus the Youngstown area still has some money. Buffalo is not far, nor is Akron.

I live 40 minutes from Nelson Ledges. I also am 35 min from Beaverun, less than 2 hrs from mid Ohio, and five hours will get me to Watkins Glen, Pocono, Grattan and Summit Point. Six brings Gingerman and ORP. So there are lots of opportunities to race around here, but also lots of people in that market both economically and with the interest.

Great we can race SpeedRacer and Lightning McQueen with coverage on the Disney Channel

I would be more excited if it was Hendricks Racing. It will be interesting to see what they do with it.
