Going to ditch the AC system on the '98 as the compressor is shot anyway. Can I just push on the schrader valve to vent the AC and just start unscrewing stuff? Can I remove the dehydrator thing too? I want to remove as much misc. un-needed crap as possible.

Technically you're "supposed" to go to a shop that has a system to reclaim the freon.

When I pulled my AC one of the lines broke as I was messing around and it vented out before I realized what had happened.

I'm such an environmental terrorist.

you dont want to vent that stuff to atmosphere. autozone sells containers that you can put it into.

Cool... Ill look into that. Id guess the vette came from Bowling Green, KY like all the other ones
Got the vette from a local guy who didnt know what he had... It was hit up front after going off in turn 6 at VIR. Was repaired and has the goods: DRM coil-overs, T1 bars, rollbar, etc.
