Default Old news, but dang!

The Cobalt SS (08) is pretty cool, in a small way. Turbo vs. sc (and no-lift shifting, so can hold boost on the upshift), LSD option, brembo front calipers, 260 HP and loads of torque under the curve, nice seats for road courses, low price, low weight. Kicker: 8.22.85 at the Ring. Might we be seeing more of these on the road course? They class into TTC +7 in NASA, leaving room for Hoosiers and some more tire width (they come on piddly little 225s). Stick em on some 265 rubber and send em out! I think they could spank most anything in the class, save perhaps the NSX well driven. It even has aero, though the bigger wing option reduces top speed a bit.

Downside: front wheel drive. Ah, well. Top end of only 160, and I bet it'll take a LONG straight to get from 130 to the top. Cheapo interior, for the most part, but DOES have the same steering wheel as the Corvette, which is funny.

It has launch control too. Turn it on, floor the throttle, it pegs at 5500 RPM, drop the clutch and off you go. Totally fun.

I drove them at Rev it Up last year and even the SC hotrod was sprung like a living room sofa. When pushed hard it plowed like a beach. /:\

Wide body.

Maybe this Chevy will lure some of the rice-burner crowd.

Doesn't do too bad in street trim.
