That is pretty funny. There is no penalty they just mess up the car and could reduce traction. I once hit a bird at about 110 mph in my '70 Nova. It hit the grill and actually pushed it all the way past the little slats and onto the radiator core support. That was fun to clean up.

Somebody notify Brock Jr. 
It'll be one other thing to confuse him regarding how to properly score penalties at the auto-x events (if they ever have another one!)
