Default C4 tow hooks

Where / how do you attach tow hooks to the front and rear of a late C4? A friend had an off course excursion this past weekend and was crawling around under his C4 to find the hole in the frame. That wouldn't have been too bad except he ended up in a shallow pond and had to "fish" around to get hooked up to the tow vehicle.

I've seen a lot for C5's but not for C4s.

Any pics and guidance on where to purchase would be appreciated.

Ah C4's, the forgotten bastard.

You need to cut through the front bumper cover to get a good mounting point for a tow hook. And the same on the rear bumper.

In the front, you can get to the frame through the radiator openning, you need to fab a plate.

In the rear, if you take the plate off there's an AL frame then the steel one.

Joe,
The following thread in Sept 07 also addressed your question. Some pictures are included.
