Default Junior melts VIR.....

Junior Johnson, that is!

Yep, one of the stars of Set Up was there at VIR this weekend with NASA Mid-Atlantic and he was pedaling that 'Vette about as fast as it could go.

2:04's last I heard before I left and my guess is he probably even went faster later.

Saw a bunch of the hooligans who hang around here while I was there. It was a good turnout, but it was HOT!!!!!

Glad you had a good time..........

Jr. is fast....but he will be faster.....

2:04's in a TTS Vette is fast, but a TTS car should be able to go at least as fast as T1 record times....He'll get there.

If he were smart , he would ditch the cone-dodger stuff...Run Mid-Ohio in 2 weeks and get qualified to run TTS at the National Championships.

If he would let me get the autocross set-up off of that RAFT prepared monster I could see him rippin' off some 2:02's or :01's...

Good job Junior......I have been waiting for them to post the results, but in the meantime I'll just go back to the beach (stuck in Hilton Head)

I had a blast out there, and the company was great. Thanks to Mac for dinner on Saturday night, and a big thanks to Jody for all of the help and laughs. I didn't get any faster, but I was completely out of tire for the last session. I also cracked another rear rotor. At least this one had more than 20 laps on it. Danny had me try a bigger front bar, and it seemed to help out on the higher speed stuff, but I'm pretty sure my autocross set-up needs some tweeking for the track.

As for Mid-Ohio Mr. Popp. I'd love to come, but the wallet says no. That, and SCCA's ProSolo finale is on the same weekend as the TT Nationals, and my wife is leading the points in class and in the ladies Challenge compition, and has informed me that she would like to drive her car for that event. Hey I got an idea Danny, I'll drive your autocross car at Mid-Ohio. Someone needs to knock the dust off of it.

Chris Ingle had it at 2:04.xxxx in a C5 for while and then Andrew Aquilante set it with a 2:02'ish I believe in a C6.

Sounds like there might be a new member of Big Pine Key Mo'sport!

While you guys were with Jr., I was watching Mrs. Jr. put the smack down on the competition in upstate NY. That's one fast family!!

Nice job, Jr. is quick. I'd love to see him make the jump and add another Corvette to the mix.

I am not for sure , but I think AJ ran the 2:02 in a C5Z06.....

Did Di drive Greg Lloyds car at the SCCA event in NY ???? I only know of 1 fast ASP convertible..........

Len....Momma said no race cars this week........Which is OK with me, I need a break. I will be busy with race cars from this point forward for the rest of the year.

There maybe a suprise TTS Nationals entry even if Jr. doesn't run....Actually I am sure there will be........

I got to watch Jr a few times between my sessions - Jody, too. (Thanks for riding with me, Jody!) You guys make driving fast look SO smooth and simple - I hope to get to that level someday Can't wait til Road Atlanta!!

Good seeing and talking with all the guys at VIR - my first NASA event, too. A good group of folks - but a hyper-packed agenda - I don't think they could've fit in a sneeze on the schedule they were running!

RAFT - this break with the family is good for ya - Tammy knows best
Rest and relax - so you'll be ready to kick some serious butt at Mid-Ohio!

PS - Len - thanks for the cool video of me!

Nice job Junior. Sorry I could not be there. Just an absolutely crazy work schedule as of late, and my wife reminded me I have 3 kids at home that would like to see me from time to time.

I said you were a fast sum bich......I'd Love to see you back up at M-O, But my wallet talks too, so I understand.
