NASA Heat Wave video.
Had a great weekend at VIR. Saturday was interesting. I went out for qualifying, hit a 2:09.3 (by my AIM system) on the 2nd lap and came on in figuring that'd be good enough. When the sheets are printed, I have no time recorded. Apparently the track transponder strip wasn't working properly for the first 2 laps, so I was stuck with my practice time of 2:14.xx. Well, the race was a TON of fun. Paul Kaiser and I had some close racing for most of it, and then he just got a couple breaks in traffic and pulled a slight lead on me for the win.
It was also a ton of fun having Ryan out there.
Sunday's race was boring, as Paul just checked out at the start. I was also having a part throttle hesitation/stumbling. I think my O2 sensors are toast.
Anyways, here's the video from saturday:

Oh, and pay special attention to the hood on the straights. It's pretty much delaminated the entire right side of the hood.... and Jody, I wont be buying a CF hood, I found a used fiberglass one for 200 locally!

Looks like a really good time, Wally. Love that 3-wide action at the start !!
You've got a lot more speed on the straights then that Cobra (and most other cars on-track, for that matter ), but he's very quick in some of the slower turns.
I liked that Fist Pump at about the 3:46 mark. That was a really good launch out of Oak Tree in 2nd gear that time.

It was good seeing you again Wally. Glad you ran good. You may say Sundays race was boring for you but not for the guys behind you. The GT guys were all over the grass in Nascar bend. I counted 4 off there and 1 in turn one and another in 4. Then there was the Noble incident on the first lap when he hit the tire wall in 8. Carnage..lots of it.

DE's went great. Weather was almost perfect. Last session on Sunday when DE3/4 went out was the most fun I have had with my clothes on in a long time!!! Ran with the 3 Stooges and we tore it up!

I am still in a major learning curve, but this weekend i learned that qualifying means EVERYTHING for these sprint races. Both days I couldnt get a decent lap in for qualifying and I paid the price.
Sunday's race was a blast since I had to move my way up through the feild. I was trying to get back up to Wally, but the cautions from the end of the snake through half of the up hill esses kept me behind slow traffic. Oh well, it was still a great weekend!

Didin't you just replace that bearing at the NCM event? I came into the tech shed while Dave Farmer was working on Jody's car and I thought you were changing the left front bearing.

Yup, I did, but that was a used one that Wally had. I guess it had "some" life left in it. The car has a brand spanking new one on now
