Default Snitz track car/engine dynoed/600 rwhp NA

Sorry for the delay in posting my track car progress. We dyno tuned my Warhawk Block 427 race engine last week. The car puts out 581 rwhp, 500+ ft lbs of torque at 6,400 rpm(Mustang Dyno/very flat torque curve/ton’s of power down low). We are installing some heavier duty valve springs and push rods to get additional performance out of the engine as it approaches red line at approx 7,300 rpm. We should get around 610-625+ at the wheels which is approx 730 hp at the crank.

Not bad numbers for a naturally aspirated engine. We used ETP heads and compression ratio of 13/1 (110 octane).

For the tech geeks among us: The Motec engine management system (we scrapped the GM computer) allows us to run the air/fuel mixture based on several variables encountered on track: namely rpm and throttle position. Ergo: the fuel fixture for the car at full throttle @ 5,000 rpm is different than at 40% throttle as required.

To program in the air/fuel map we input data into the Motec running the car on the dyno at 10% throttle at the various rpm levels and adjusted the air fuel ratios, then at 20%, then 30% all the way up to full throttle. We can vary the resistance of the chassis dyno to accomplish.

Thanks to Bob, Brett and the gang at EPP who built this “bad to the bone engine”. Pictured below is George of Eurosport Racing who came over to EPP to help tune and work with the MOTEC (George installed). Eurosport is doing the suspension/brakes/cage work…. The two shops have done a great job working together on the project!!

More posts to come. Hoping to get this baby on track soon!

Snitz, these are crazy numbers. I was at Eurosport on Sunday, talking with George, and looking over your dyno sheet. Pretty amazing project!

Your car is no 'baby Beast', as these numbers exceed Short Throw's monster.

As a fellow C5 guy, I can't wait to see this thing rolling. Looks like you'll have the tail end of the season for set-up, and ALL next year to really enjoy your new toy.

PS. Mike-I spoke to Autowerks. She goes in for paint in about 2 1/2 weeks! It's about time we get to show off Adam's (& your) handiwork on the design.

I need to towel off!

Those are terrific numbers

If you get a chance to post up the dyno that would be great.

Do you plan to get it out to the track this year?

I will post dyno numbers shortly. We looked to be getting valve float will below redline (approx 7,200) at around 6,300 rpm likely the result of the high compression (13/1). We expect the higher duty rods and valve springs to show up today. Then we can dyno and see what this baby will do at red line. Should know in a couple of days.

The coolers are a two stage external oil set up. The hood is the ACP World Challenge Hood (CF).

I'm just happy to get to park in the same garage with you bud! My build isn't in the same league, but I'm having a riot. Couldn't have done it without you sensei.

Update: No parts showed up yesterday!

I'm hoping they arrive today so we can get the car back up and running.

That eddy current on our Mustang Chassis Dyno requires a lot of current to run it. The whole area of Columbia City experienced a brown-out the day we spent with Tom's car on the dyno! Bob

Will keep fingers crossed. Can't wait to see what she does with new parts.

Fleischer, I'm still running a stock LS6 . . . and will continue to do so for a year or more. I like the idea of playing 'David and Goliath' with the big boys. Nothing better than passing a Porsche Cup Car with a stock Corvette!
