Default MSR HPDE Sept 6th/7th with Drivers Edge

Howdy all,

I just got the following email from Rick at www.thedriversedge.net
I'm bummed that we won't be at ECR since that is so close to home that I wouldn't have to stay at a Hotel. Oh Well. Anybody else interested in doing MSR? Anyone want to split the cost of a hotel room?

Thanks!
Dave

SEPT. 6 & 7ECREVENT CHANGE OF LOCATION TO MSR:
TRACK CHANGE:
You’ve originally registered for our Sept. 6 & 7 at Eagles Canyon Raceway, after much considerationwe have toredirect our Sept 6 & 7, 2008 track date to Motorsport Ranch.
REASON: ECR is undergoing track repairs that will start Aug 11th and we have no assurance the repairs will be done in time…We look forward to revisiting this challenging facility in the future…
THE GOOD NEWS: we have a back-up plan and ourSept. 6 & 7 event will be run atMSRhopefullythe 3.1 mile BIG TRACK, to do sowe need your help toget the wordoutso we can get the participant enrolment needed we are behind the curve with such a late change of track.
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOU:we have not processed any billing for Sept. event at ECR, you are not obligated to run at MSRbut why not…it’s a great facility and just a 45 minute south of ECR. We’lljust transfer yourregistration toMotorsports Ranch, if you are unable to do so, pleaseemail orcall us 817 571-1101 and let us know ASAP.
See YOU at the track,
Rick Schwalenberg

Man, that's tempting. Got a conflict with my BMW autocross that Sunday, but...

I'm assuming that, although I've run the 1.7 several times (last time out was running in the 1:28s) that I'll start in the lowest class. Is there any kind of evaluation that might allow me to bump up one class?

Thanks for the info, and have a good one,
Mike

I have signed up. I will probably have my wife with me so she probably won't want to share a room.

I was looking forward to going back to EC but I hear the track was in need of repair. Check their website for more information.

See you at the track Dave.

Sure, they will put an instructor in the car with you , if you have the experience and are too fast for the group you will quickly get bumped to a group that suits your experience and speed level. Just let the instructor know you want to move up and he can evaluate you.

Registered last night! Woo Hoo, can't wait!

Only thing I've got to think about is Sunday: my local autox group is running out at Mineral Wells, which is a blast!

See you the 6th!

It looks like it will be the big 3.1 mile circuit. Hope to see plenty of CF members there. Should be fantastic.

I'll be there!!!!
Probably in my 01 Yellow Z06. Its possible I'll be in the 96 if it isn't sold yet. The Z06 is already short on rear tires and needs to have the all the fluids flushed before I can track it.

Looking forward to meeting other CF members.

Dave

Hey Dave - a group of us usually park two trailers in an "L" fashion in the paddock toward the grid end. I have a Mag Red C5 coupe #120.

Stop by.
BTW - I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Granbury. Pretty nice place and they have a decent breakfast.

Hi Scot,
I normally park on that end of the paddock too. I'll certainly come by. This will be my first time on the 3.1 and I'm so excited I can hardly control myself. I'm not very fast but I sure do have a great time.

You're welcome to park by us. The more the merrier.
I'll be there Friday night about 5 or 6 to unload. See you at the track.

Looking forward to it. My first TDE event, don't know whether we'll be driving or swimming, but it'll be fun!

Have a good one,

Hi Mike,
I've run with TDE for many years now and I think they are one of the best. The weather forecasts are looking like it will be a great time driving

I'm sorry to say they'll have one more open slot in the red run group. I came down with the flu on monday and I'm still feeling under the weather today..... Bummer!

The Drivers Edge is a great group so take advantage of these openings if you can.

Somebody needs to really spank that downhill right hand turn in the middle of the new section this weekend for me! That was going to be my turn for this weekend....

I wish I wish I wish I wish I could be there this week end. I just got my clutch changed so this would be the first time for me on the big course with a working clutch, new LG Pros LTs, and hoosier R6s making it the most fun out of the bedroom a man can have. However, the Army says I have to be in Conroe so to Conroe I go...
