Big 3 NASCAR Wish List
Autoextremist has an interesting article on the big 3 auto makers and their future association with NASCAR. He describes a "wish list" the manufacturers have as a basis for future discussions
1. Make the new "pony cars", with stock bodies, the future NASCAR race platforms.
2. Upgrade technology: fuel injection, OHC, E85.
3. Increase road course races from 2 to 4.
4. Cut overall race schedule
5. Eliminate truck series
6. Make Nationwide a true driver development series

Well if the have the B alls to stick together they can get it. Toyota pony car is? They won't like that.
They can't sell many trucks for pleasure now so they don't need to pump very limited funs into that series anymore. Large Chevy dealer down the street had two dooleys since January. 55 sticker with 8 off a few months ago. They only sold 1 even now with 6 years 0% it sits.

All of this sounds good to me. I never liked the idea of having all the same cars. I want to see if a Chevy is really better than a Ford.
NASCAR has become the WWF of racing, and it really needs the overhaul.

I can watch different kinds of cars go in circles, but a bunch of the same car going in circles....well speaks for itself. I'd actually watch if they did that, though the circle jerkers may not like have to turn left (or take a weekend off) 4 times a year.
Heck, I'd even take a Mustang vs CTS or Malibu even and a Charger or something.

Old news, but it sounds great if they can pull it off.
If the SCCA renaming SpeedGT to TransAm takes place, they would beat them to it.
They were thinking of a new Supra.
But with their over expansion, I don't know if that will happen.
