Default Grattan Raceway - Forward Aug 31, BACKWARD Sept 1 !!

Ladies and gents, Spectator-Racing (in collaboration with AROC and MIVE clubs) is proud to invite you to our inaugural HPDE event at Grattan Raceway in Belding, MI. We will be doing the track its normal, clockwise direction on Sunday, Aug 31, and we will be running BACKWARD, counterclockwise, on Labor Day, Monday Sept 1.

This hasn't been done with cars in years! It's frequently done by motorcycles, and is perfectly safe. Both the track and cornerworkers have experience with this route.

Please go to:

www.spectator-racing.com

to sign up online. Click the "Events" tab, or the link on the front page. Please note the "dash" in the web address...

We accept Paypal, or you can mail us a check. The registration and tech forms are available online as well if you prefer to mail them in. For more information, PM me directly or send an email to:

Spec1@spectator-racing.com

Typical HPDE rules, 4 run groups, instructors are available and will have track time on the counterclockwise track prior to Monday's event to help students both days.

In addition, L98Terror will be our head instructor - or is that chief instructor? Come learn from a National Champ!

All Corvetteforum members are invited to use the member discount, $135 per day or $260 for both days.

Don't miss this unique opportunity!

Congrats on your first event. You're going to love counterclockwise. As usual the wallet is telling me that I can't make it. I have too much on my plate over the next month; vacation in Japan, August M-O, Nationals, work...blah blah blah.

The best I can offer is a Bump. TTT

I'll be there Saturday with Eric's group, then Sunday with you all. I can't so Monday.

Jon, I'll bring your trailer wiring adapter. I've been meaning to call you so I could return it. Busy.....

Sweet, glad you can make it. No worries on the adapter, I haven't needed it.

Did you get a tow vehicle yet?

Yup, I got a used Tahoe. Unfortunately, the only towing I have done with it was a friend's Spec Miata after it crashed at Waterford. I'm scrambling to get everything that I need to tow the Vette. I've been really busy and haven't had the time. I am HOPING to tow to this event. We'll see though.

Was that the one a few weeks ago during a race weekend and you guys had no idea how to get it on the trailer? If so I was the guy who was hanging by a yellow C4 and asked if you needed a hand pushing it up.

If not forget about the whole story.

some tracks will not allow that due to the curbing.

That was us, with Jon's old trailer. I thought that might be you but wasn't sure. We were kind of busy and not having a good weekend. Hence no time to chat. Thanks for the offer to help though. Last year you came over and got a couple pairs of V710's from me.

We eventually used a come-along to winch the car up on the trailer. We placed a piece of wood under the front left wheel as it was a square wheel and wouldn't roll.

YOU PUT A MITATA ON MY TRAILER?!?!

I never said that was ok! Man, had I known...

So was it the guy who brought you out to pick the trailer up? Can't remember his name. Stinks about the wreck.

That's why it isn't YOUR trailer any more. A friend does what a friend needs to sometimes.

Nope, it was someone else. They run Spec Miatas together. Both are good friends.

We're taking a vote and will probably only do the backward track in the morning and go back to clockwise in the afternoon.

Get your registrations in!

Nope. Due to some scratches we are extending the deadline and cancelling the late fees.

Bring a friend for both days and they get half off...it's up to you to work out how to split the discount

Instructions are on the website:

www.spectator-racing.com

You can paypal us to:

spec1@spectator-racing.com

Or send a check, the address is there.

So the cost is $135 per day, $260 for both days, or $395 for two people, both days.

Thanks!
